Karlova is a district of Tartu that fascinates guests with its bohemian atmosphere.

There are historic wooden houses, secret yards worth discovering, unique cafes that are very popular among the locals, and lots of greenery. The unique street art here is definitely noteworthy. Each spring, the Karlova Days are organised to give you an even better insight into the area.
The story of the district dates back to the 19th and 20th century, when houses were built on the lands of Karlova Manor. The oldest settlement is located in the beginning of Kalevi Street, which dates back to the 18th century and is architecturally different from the rest of the area.
