Kärdla – Hausma – Kukka – Palade – Kärdla (21 km)
People say Hiiumaa is bigger on the inside than on the outside, and you can especially feel it when you go hiking around the island. Route 305 is a real treat for a family outing – the journey isn't long, but is nonetheless filled with beautiful scenery. Near Kärdla, you will be accompanied by the sea, and you can see beautiful views and tiny islets when passing the airport. Riding along the lovely winding forest road, you'll reach the Helmersen rock field, Silmakivi rock near the airport and a little bit further from there, the truly massive Kukka rock which is the 5th biggest boulder in Estonia. The trail reaches the seaside on multiple occasions and offers breath-taking views.
Arriving from the forest roads to the asphalt, it is worth visiting the Soera Farm Museum, taking a look at the very well maintained Palade School and then continue your journey on the narrow asphalt road, which seems to be made for cyclists. Paluküla church and the Kärdla meteor crater are also nearby.
We recommend starting this bicycle trip from Kärdla airport or the Paluküla sports facilities.
