This route has become well-known as the track of the Tartu Cycling Marathon. It's also great to enjoy its beautiful views when its calmer, not only from the corner of your eye during the competition.

If you want to complete the route in a day, you need proper physical preparation. The route follows paved roads for only a few kilometres. There are also sections of soft ground and some difficult ascents and descents.

At the beginning, there is an easier section on the so-called old scooter track to Hobustemäe. Then the forest and field roads take you to Harimäe, where a number of ascents await you. The following gravel roads are a little easier to pass, but from time to time the trail also leads to more difficult natural sections. A nice view unfolds from Meegaste Hill, then the route goes back to the forest roads.

For the last twenty kilometres after Palu TP, you'll be cycling on pleasant forest roads, which from Hellenurme also offer quite difficult climbs uphill. Finally, you will reach the nicely developed Tartu County Health Sports Centre near Elva.

You can start cycling from Otepää or Elva or from a waypoint on Harimäe, Meegaste Hill, Puka or Palu. By train, you can get close to the route from Elva or Puka.

It is also possible to take on this route as a multi-day trip. If you want to do a family trip, carefully evaluate the physical abilities of the cyclists.
